  1. I don't think that it's possible to not start singing Living On A Prayer when it comes on the radio! And is it really Christmas time without Last Christmas!

    1. Sorry to disappoint you, E Man... Interesting additional songs you provided. Sorry to have omitted some of what seems to be favorites of yours. Out of curiosity, which songs from my list would you switch around?

  6. This was really hard. I had to go to the songs on my phone for help, which is incomplete for sure. There are so many songs I love that are NOT on my phone.

    Love Song by The Cure
    Love Today by Mika
La Cienega Just Smiled by Ryan Adams
Look At You by Big & Rich
    Let Her Go by Passenger
Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons
Love The Way You Lie by Eminem
    Life For Rent by Dido
Let Me Into Your Heart by Mary Chapin Carpenter
Like Its A Bad Thing by Gary Allan
Least Complicated by The Indigo Girls

And that is just the tip of a very large iceberg.

  7. I think the songs that are most surprising to me on this list are the ones you "loathe"...Light My Fire? Lights? Like A Prayer? (I'm not much of a Madonna fan, but that's one of hers I actually enjoy quite a bit. I need to hear more of why you loathe these songs.

    1. LOL! Ok, fair enough. 1) Lights. That song and Wheel in the Sky are the two Journey songs that I have never, ever liked. Lights just seems to drag, with Steve Perry moaning along. I just the get the overwhelming urge to snap my fingers and tell Steve and the fellas to pick up the pace or something. 2) Light My Fire. I dated a guy once who really loved The Doors. The Doors had never really been on my radar until I dated him. I knew who they were and knew their more popular songs, but never really listened to them with frequency or intentionality until I dated him. He used to utter the line, "C'mon, baby, light my fire..." to me. I am fairly certain that my loathing of that song comes from a negative association my brain has made between the song, that line, and him. LOL! 3) Like a Prayer. I used to like Madonna, not like a big, big fan or anything, but I liked her better than average. Over time, my musical listening experience (through regular radio programming, MTV viewing, and Sirius XM radio listening) became absolutely saturated by her. Too much Madonna! I wasn't the biggest fan of Like a Prayer even when it came out and now when I hear it, I immediately cringe.

    2. I can relate most to your reason behind Light My Fire. One particularly difficult relationship of mine, One by U2 was our song. I can still recognize that it is a solid song, but I don't want to listen to it. Still. 20+ years later.
