J is for Jump, Jump Around, & Just Another Day (2017 Blogging A to Z)

Welcome to my '92 Time Capsule, where I unearth artifacts and memories from a quarter century ago in alphabetical order everyday (excluding Sundays, with the exception of the 30th) during the month of April.

Today's letter is J, so without further ado...

Before I begin, allow me to apologize for doing two song only posts back to back.  I've tried to spread the songs out amongst the letters, but the letters I and J have proven to be tougher than other letters, so I've resorted to using only songs.

"Jump" by Kris Kross
This song came in at #3 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Singles Chart

"Jump Around" by House of Pain
#24 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Singles Chart

"Just Another Day" by Jon Secada
#10 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 Singles Chart

I remember all of these songs, but, believe it or not, the one I have the most vivid memory of is Jump Around. I remember being in a college bar called Yancy's or Daddy's Money (it changed names all the time). The bar had an upstairs areas that looked down upon the teeny, tiny dance floor below. I remember being up there one Thursday night (ladies night) and watching the crowd bounce up and down to this song in almost perfect unison.

Do you have any memories associated with any of these songs? If so, please feel free to share. As always, thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thank you!

Are you referring to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" or is there another song called "Just Beat It"? (With as many songs out there, one never knows...) "Beat It" is a classic. I was very restricted since my theme deals with things from 1992.

  3. strange, I haven't really heard the first two songs before, at least I cannot recall hearing them, but 'Just another day' seem to have been stuck in my head back then...

    have a lovely day.

  4. When I think of Jump it's the Van Halen song from the eighties. I wasn't a Van Halen fan, as I'm more of a Springsteen girl, but I remember that song being played all the time. Wrong decade for your time capsule though. WeekendsInMaine

    1. I agree, I think of VH's song, too. Unfortunately, that was released in 1984 and didn't work with my theme... LOL! Thanks for stopping by!
