P is for Prince Charles and Princess Diana, People, The Pelican Brief, & P.M. Dawn (Blogging A to Z 2017)

Welcome to my '92 Time Capsule, where I unearth artifacts and memories from a quarter century ago in alphabetical order everyday (excluding Sundays, with the exception of the 30th) during the month of April.

Today's letter is P, so let's get to it.

In 1992, Prince Charles and Princess Diana, who famously wed in 1981, separated after 11 years of marriage.  They later divorced in 1996.

Nick Nolte graced the cover of People magazine in March and was bestowed the honor of being People's Sexiest Man Alive!

The Pelican Brief, a legal-suspense thriller written by John Grisham, was published this year.  Grisham's third novel, The Pelican Brief spent twelve weeks at the top of the New York Times Best Seller list, more than any other fictional work.  The book sold more than 1.3 million copies in hardback that year.

The screen adaptation, starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington, was released the following year.

P.M. Dawn, an American hip-hop group, had two songs on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 list:

"I'd Die Without You," which came in at #51

"Set Adrift on Memory Bliss," which came in at #44

On a personal note, despite how pretty a song "I'd Die Without You" is, I remember laughing at times because the singer really didn't enunciate "without you" very well and it came out "without chew."  LOL!  Perhaps I truly was meant to be a speech pathologist after all!

Any memories of either song?  How about The Pelican Brief?  Have you read it?

I hope this finds you having a wonderful Wednesday!  As always, thanks for stopping by!
