Currently... (Vol. 36)

Avoiding...  people like the plague because the flu has hit the metro Louisville area hard this year.  The students and faculty at my school have been hit especially hard the past 2 weeks.

Mega-dosing...  Vitamin C.  I have no idea if it really works or not, but I'm not taking any chances.

Walking...  at least 12 miles a week.

Rescheduling...  the personal day I had intended to take on my birthday next week.  (I need it for something very important in April!)

Admiring...  the pictures that I've seen online that feature celebrities along side their younger selves.  I don't know who created these, but if I did I would certainly give credit where credit is due.  These are really cool.

Recommending...  this temporary gray coverup stuff by Clairol.  It's just enough "smoke and mirrors" to do the trick and it buys me just a little more time when my roots start to show but I'm not ready for a coloring date.

Dreading...  the speech pathology conference I have to attend later this month.  I dread this thing every year, so this is nothing new.

Reading Listening... to the audiobook After I Do by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Still watching...  The Masked Singer.  So far, I'm batting .000 in guessing any of the unmasked singers. It's still fun to watch, though.

Shopping...  for swimsuits...  Even though I'm in a smaller body, this is still a daunting task.  Dear lord, give me strength.

Laughing...  at this:

Agreeing... with this:

January in a Snapshot:

Top row:  walking in the ice and snow
Middle row:  attending the musical Something's Rotten, my stepdaughter's dog and his
bad case of "bed head"
Bottom row:  scenes from the Polar Vortex

What have you been up to lately?

  2. Those celebrity photos are amazing! The kids & teachers are dropping like flies here. This week we had 8 teachers out in lower school!

    1. Aren't they cool? One day last week we had 8 adults out (I'm in a K-5 school); on another day we had 20% of our enrollment absent (115ish kids give or take). It's been nuts! I'm not sure I ever remember a flu season being this bad before.

  3. A speech pathology conference sounds the opposite of fun. Is it in a fun location? Or just nearby?
What do you think of After I Do?

    1. Some of my coworkers love it (conference); it reminds me too much of graduate school. It's in Lexington, KY (within 50 miles of where I work) and, in my opinion, there's nothing fun there to do that we haven't already done before. I'm about 2/3 into After I Do. At first, I wasn't really digging it (or not as much as I have with her other books). But, it has kind of grown on me and I'm very intrigued to see how everything ends up. And... I'm not sure what I'm personally hoping for either!

    1. Thank you! Hoping the flu passes you and KC by as well! At work, we are dealing with the stomach bug, strep, Flu A, and Flu B. Working in a school is truly like working in a cesspool at times! YUCK! Yes, what's coming in April is UBER exciting!

  5. I don't know about vitamin C but apparently eating garlic is good for your immune system. Although if that's true I should never have a single cold considering I put garlic in almost everything!

    1. LOL! I've heard that about garlic, too, I just don't eat garlic that often because it seems to make me so thirsty afterwards that it drives me crazy.

  6. Ugh! The flu hasn't hit us too bad in Texas and I hope that it stays that way! It was bad last year, so it was kind of scary, especially since the girls were so young. And those pictures of the celebrities were so cool! It amazes me how much some people have changed and then others haven't.

    1. Last Friday, 20% of our enrollment was absent (115 kids, give or take). I hope you are able to steer clear of it, for it seems really bad this year. I, personally, would love to have a photo like that of myself. LOL!

    1. I know! I think I'd love to have a picture like this of myself; I'm just not sure what "young" picture of myself I'd choose! LOL!

  9. Those celebrity photos are freaking amazing! Be careful on the Vitamin C. I don't know how much you're taking but you CAN take too much.
