F is for Fifteen Favorites (Songs That Start with F)

Ah, the letter F...  The first letter in the Blogging A to Z April Challenge that has given me difficulty.  I've contemplated topics such as family, fate, and Four (one of my literary crushes from the Divergent series), but none of them went anywhere.  I texted a friend (I even contemplated the topic of friendship, too, but knew I didn't have the time to devote to it) and said, "Tell me the first word that starts with F that comes to your mind."

She said, "Favorites."  With that in mind and truly trying to stay with the theme of "F," I came up with Fifteen Favorite Songs that Start with the Letter F.  Be warned - I'm a child of the 80s, so my list will definitely reflect that.

Fade Into You - Mazzy Star

Faithfully - Journey

Fallen Angel - Poison

Falling Slowly - by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (from the motion picture Once)

Fantasy by Aldo Nova

Feel It - Three 6 Mafia

Feels Like Love - Danger Danger

Feels Like Tonight - Daughtry

(The) Flame - Cheap Trick

Fool in the Rain - Led Zeppelin

Foolin' - Def Leppard

Footloose - Kenny Loggins

Forever - Kiss

Fortress Around Your Heart - Sting

Fruitcakes - Jimmy Buffett

So, there you have it.  Fifteen favorite songs that start with the letter F.  What do you think? Have any suggestions of songs that I may have overlooked?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I like this idea! Sometimes I shy away from music topics because there are so many song choices.

Good picks on here. Fool in the Rain is actually one of the only Led Zep songs I truly love. Especially in summer.

    1. Thanks! Fool in the Rain reminds me a tad bit of the Caribbean. Maybe that's why I like it. Like you, it's probably the only Zeppelin song I really, really like.

  4. Well, Ericka, you named several I really like a lot in those 15. Right now, I'm too tired to think of another F song. I'll probably think of one as soon as I close my browser. :/ I hope you are enjoying the AtoZ!

  6. As I read this, I'm listening to Fall to Pieces by Velvet Revolver. Poignant, because I love the song, it fits the category, and it was written by Scott Weiland talking about falling to pieces during his drug use, and now he's dead from drugs :(

But, on a happier note, you can imagine that I LOVE so many of these. Foolin' is my all-time favorite Def Leppard song (which is saying a lot). Fallen Angel! Kiss's Forever! Faithfully! Fade Into You! Falling Slowly! LOVE them!

  7. Nice. Fool in the Rain is one of my favorite Led Zepplin songs.
I use songs for blog post titles (except for the A to Z challenge), so this is kind of cheating but there's Forever Young, Final Countdown, Fire and Rain, Freeze Frame, Fortunate Son, Fly Like an Eagle, Funeral for a Friend, and Freebird

    1. For my initial list, before I whittled it down to 15, I considered Final Countdown, Fly Like an Eagle, and Freeze Frame. I appreciate Freebird, but I've heard it so many times throughout my life in so many different venues, that I'm kind of sick of it. I appreciate it, but it's not a favorite of mine.
