My blog is pulling double duty again today as I'm linking up with Herding Cats and Burning Soup and with Wordless Wednesday.
March's Blog All About It prompt is Favorite Scent. I couldn't narrow it down to just one, so I created a collage of five of my favorites.
Clockwise from top left: buttercream icing, honeysuckle, cinnamon, summer rain, and the "smell of football" (my nickname for the smell of early autumn) |
What is one of your favorite scents? As always, thanks for stopping by!
I do love buttercream icing and cinnamon. Though I enjoy watching the flowers bloom in spring, my whole family gets all teary eyed with allergies, so I try not to get too close when I can help it. I love that you associate football with fall, we do too! It is my favorite time of year. Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteMy dad was a football coach, so much of my life growing up was directly and indirectly influenced by football whether I liked it or not! LOL!
DeleteI love the smell of freshly cut grass, and also bread baking.
ReplyDeleteBoth of those are very powerful scents! I admit that when the cafeteria ladies make yeast rolls at school, I love how that smell takes over the back hallway near the kitchen. It's also a very nostalgic smell as it reminds me of the wonderful yeast rolls that the cooks at my grade school used to serve when I was a kid.
DeleteI love the smell of fall, which I also equate with football (and school supplies). I also love the "look" of football...everything has a golden glow in September/October.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the school supplies association, too! Hazard of our professions, I guess!
DeleteI love the smell of honeysuckle! Not so sure I'd like to smell a football though :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Well, it's not necessarily the small of a football, but rather of football season/autumn. :)
DeleteGreat collage. Cinnamon was on my list, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the scent of buttercream frosting though when I took cake decorating courses I hated it. LOL Yes for honeysuckle. I associate that scent with my mom since its her favorite.
ReplyDeleteFall scents are great. Good picks, Ericka!
I guess if you are exposed to something long enough, its appeal can get lost. My stepson works for Domino's Pizza and he can't stand the smell of pizza much anymore.
DeleteThank you!
Good picks! I agree...I love fall and autumn smells. My favorite season.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteRain was on my list as well. I like to look at honeysuckle but smelling it will send me into a sneezing fit. Same with Night blooming Jasmine - which I have right outside my bedroom window which is a really bad idea lol

I can appreciate the floral scent induced sneezing fit. There are a few very "perfumey" flowers that do me the same way.
Deletemmm, buttercream icing.
ReplyDeleteI think, based on comments I've received, that buttercream frosting is a hit! :)
DeleteMmm buttercream frosting. Yum! LOL on the smell of football being for autumn. I do love the smell of autumn as well :)
ReplyDeleteTo me, there is just something so soothing about buttercream frosting. :)
DeleteMmmm buttercream... Sugar, vanilla, butter. Can't go wrong with that!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteButtercream icing! Love it. I do like the smells of cinnamon and summer rain too. :)
