Memories of Notre Dame - Wordless Wednesday (Vol. 43)

I had the privilege of visiting Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris in the summer of 2009 while chaperoning 30-some teenagers on a whirlwind tour of Ireland, Wales, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. Although my memories of the visit are somewhat cloudy, I'm very thankful that these pictures exist to document my visit and that I was able to see it in the first place.

  1. Your pictures of Notre Dame are beautiful. It's such a deeply spiritual place, and so many people have worshipped there over the many years it has been in Paris.

I went to mass at Notre Dame last summer, and I am so glad I did.

  2. Lovely photos. I'm glad to know much of it survived the fire.

  3. This are so pretty! I wish I had visited Notre Dame when I had a better camera (I was there in 1997). I think my favorite of these is the one looking up at the Rose window from the outside.

  4. I've been to Paris a number of times but never managed to get into the Notre Dame Cathedral. So sad about the fire. :( Now I won't be able to see it as it was. Very glad that no one was hurt though! And that most of the art was saved!

    With Love,
    Mandy

  6. Gorgeous! I had to dig out my memories too! Was there twice in 1989 and then again in 2001.

  7. These photos are beautiful. I was relieved to hear the pipe organ, and all but one stained glass window survived. 💜
